Our workshop features workspace and equipment for the most detailed PC repair operations. Once your computer is at our workshop, we will have it ready for you in no time at all.

Pick-up/Drop-off
Don't have time to drop off or pick up? We can take care of it for you. For a $20.00 fee, we can collect the system at a time that's convenient for you, or deliver a system that we've worked on to right to your door.

As with in-person services, pick-up/drop-off for workshop services may be subject to additional travel fees for clients outside of the Pittsburgh area, on a case-by-case basis.

Diagnosis
Our consultant will analyze the symptoms of the computer problem, using a suite of advanced diagnostic utilities and a breadth of knowledge of the workings of computer systems. When the diagnosis is complete, a full write-up will be furnished including recommended course of action to restore the system to full working order.

System Cleaning
Malware is an ongoing concern for all PC users. Viruses, trojans, adware, and spyware, this unauthorized and unwanted software compromises security, undermines system stability, and reduces performance and overall system life span. We will analyze your computer for the presence of malware and remove it, as well as installing non-commercial security software designed to reduce the likelihood of future outbreaks.

For no additional fee, we will install and configure commercial third-party security and privacy applications of the customer's choice. The listed fee does not include the cost of such applications.

System Optimization
Even with normal use, over time, a system can become bogged down with unnecessary software applications, remnants of uninstalled software, and disk fragmentation that can dramatically reduce a PC's performance. The presence and aftermath of malware applications, such as viruses and adware/spyware, can hasten such performance degradation. We will perform software optimization designed to restore the computer's performance to its original levels.

Physical Cleaning
Dust, dirt, and grit accumulate in electronics over the course of their life span. This accumulation can block ventilation and clog fans, reducing or eliminating the effectiveness of such devices, leading to system-wide failures and reduction of the life span of the PC. We will clean up the system, removing the accumulation and ensuring smooth physical operation.

Total Tune-Up
The complete work-up. This service encompasses full system cleaning and optimization services, as well as physical cleaning of the computer. We will remove all malware from the system, clean it of accumulated dust and grit, and then optimize the system for improved performance.

Windows Installation/Upgrade
Times change, and your PC's operating system should change with them. When you decide that it's time to make a change, AKA Technical has the know-how to suggest the version of Windows that's right for you, and the expertise to get you upgraded, worry-free. We will install a copy the Microsoft(r) Windows operating system, fresh or as an upgrade, with all the latest patches.

The listed fee does not include the cost of the operating system.

Peripheral Installation
Whether it's a printer, a scanner, a camera, an external hard drive, or a new smartphone, peripherals can expand on the features of your computer. We will connect and configure your external peripheral device, allowing you to take advantage the new features it offers.

Data Backup
Hard drives crash. Files are accidentally deleted. Whatever the cause, the end result is the loss of important data from your computer. This is why backups are important. We will copy the files of your choosing to a backup medium of your choice (CD, DVD, external hard drive).

Secure Deletion
Looking to give your computer away or recycle it, but afraid of third-parties getting their hands on your private information? Protect your privacy with AKA Technical's Secure Deletion service. We will use NSA-certified algorithms to make sure that no traces of your sensitive information remain on the computer in question.
