Network Setup
Looking to share an Internet connection among multiple computers? How about a printer? Wired? Wireless? A home network is the key. We will make an appointment to come by and set up a network - wired or wireless - for up to three systems, whether they're game consoles, personal computers, or other network devices.

The listed fee does not include the cost of hardware. More than three systems may be networked for an additional fee of $40.00 per system.

Network Expansion
Have an existing network that you want to use with more devices? We will add an additional device to your network.

Wireless Security
An insecure wireless network is an open door to anyone in range of the signal, giving unauthorized access to your Internet connections, shared files, printers, and other networked devices. AKA Technical can secure your wireless network. A consultant will secure the network and all devices currently on it, ensuring your safety and privacy.

Diagnosis
Our consultant will analyze your computer using a suite of advanced diagnostic utilities and a breadth of knowledge of the working of computer systems. When the diagnosis is complete, a full write-up will be provided, including a recommended course of action to restore the system to full working order.

System Cleaning
Malware is an ongoing concern for all PC users. Viruses, trojans, adware, and spyware, unauthorized and unwanted software can reduce the performance, security, privacy, and life span of your PC. Our consultant will analyze your computer for the presence of malware and remove it, and then install non-commercial security software designed to reduce the likelihood of future outbreaks.

For no additional fee, our consultants will install and configure commercial third-party security and privacy software of the customer's choosing. The listed fee does not include the cost of such software.

System Optimization
Over time, even with normal use, a system can get bogged down with unnecessary software, remnants of old software, and disk fragmentation, all of which can drastically reduce performance. Malware is particularly notorious for causing this sort of degradation. Our consultant will help your PC to recover performance lost to these factors.

Physical Cleaning
Dust, dirt, and grit build up in electronics over the course of their life span. This can block ventilation and clog fans, reducing their cooling effectiveness, resulting in the build-up of heat and reducing the stability and overall life span of the PC. Our consultant will clean the system, removing this accumulated grit.

Total Tune-Up
The complete work-up. This service includes full system cleaning and optimization, as well as physical cleaning of the computer. Our consultant will remove all malware from the system, clean it of accumulated dust and grit, and then optimize the system for improved performance.

Windows Installation
Times change, and your PC's operating system should change with them. When you decide that it's time to make a change, AKA Technical has the know-how to suggest the version of Windows that's right for you, and the expertise to get you upgraded, worry-free. A consultant will install a copy the Microsoft(r) Windows operating system, fresh or as an upgrade, with all the latest patches.

The listed fee does not include the cost of the operating system.

Peripheral Installation
Whether it's a printer, a scanner, a camera, an external hard drive, or a new smartphone, peripherals can expand on the features of your computer. A consultant will connect and configure your external peripheral device, allowing you to take advantage the new features it offers.

Data Backup
Hard drives crash. File systems get corrupted. Files are accidentally deleted. Whatever the cause, the end result is the loss of important data from your computer. This is why backups are important. A consultant will copy the files of your choosing to a backup medium of your choice (CD, DVD, external hard drive).

The listed free does not include the cost of the backup medium. An additional $15.00 is assessed per full unit of media (CD, DVD, external hard drive) required for the backup, beyond the first.

Data Migration
On average, computers are replaced every three to five years. Your data, however, is valuable for a lifetime. A consultant will transfer your information from one computer to another, ensuring that your data follows you as you upgrade and replace your computers.

Backup + Migration
As combination of the Data Backup and Data Migration services, we allow our customers to take advantage of both services in a single package, through the Backup + Migration service.
